Recent Audition Request and Background Tracks

Hi,

I was recently asked to audition for an 80’s rock band, but I declined, as the music they play is mostly Led Zepplin, and I don’t believe that kind of music matches my voice. He understood and said I had great vocals.

I think it would be fun to have a band that backed me up on the 30’s and 40’s. I’d like to sing the songs of Fanny Brice and old Vaud-ville. Doris Day, Nat King Cole, Bing Crosby.

I’ve been trying to find background tracks for my shows at the Senior Assisted Living Homes, but there aren’t many tracks out there for those kinds of songs. Doris Day did some really great tunes but not much is out there for her. And I can’t find any for Fanny Brice.

I’d really like to do some things the Seniors haven’t heard in a long time. I had one resident tell me he was glad that I didn’t sing “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” because everyone sings it. There are so many wonderful songs out there. My mom used to sing the songs from her parents generations and they may have been songs from their parents generation, songs of Beatrice Kay like “Don’t Go In the Lions Cage Tonight”, I’m glad my mom shared those songs with me.

I really think even today’s generations would get a kick out of those songs.

Thanks for visiting my site,
Nicole
