Hi Everyone,
Went to Karaoke Saturday night at the Scotch. I just want to thank people for being so nice. Had a few people show up that came to hear me sing. Had a few people ask me to do requests, “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” and “I Dreamed a Dream” from Les MisĂ©rables. Unfortunately, I don’t know that one and I guess I really need to learn it because any time someone wants me to do a Broadway tune it is that one. Another song I frequently get asked to do is “Bring Me to Life” by Evanescence. Not sure why people want me to sing rock music. It was a really good night, almost like being at a party.
I tried “Mona Lisa”. And I sang “Orange Colored Sky”, “When You’re Good Mama”, “You Don’t Bring Me Flowers”, and “Cry Me River”. Gave my card to a couple people. The guy from Vegas said I need to look into getting with a talent agency.
I’m working on a few new songs. “Don’t Get Around Much Anymore”, “The Very Thought of You”, “Route 66”, “This Can’t Be Love”, “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy”, and my Christmas songs for my Christmas show. My mom frequently gives me ideas, too. Look at this “Alice Blue Gown” funny video.
I realize working on my song list with Jason that I really need to start learning more songs in this decade. I guess I’m really dating myself. Maybe I should ask my daughter what I should sing… she’s learning all these older songs with me. 🙂
